William T. Kesler, Jr., who everyone knows as “Billy,” has been a practicing attorney in North Carolina for more than 15 years.
At Brady Cobin Law Group, PLLC, Billy handles mediation, prepares trusts, wills, and powers of attorney, and handles civil litigation involving guardianship of minors’ estates. He is personable and compassionate and strives to provide solid and dependable legal guidance for each client.
Having never met a stranger, Billy takes the time to get to know each client and understand his or her goals and needs. He then develops an effective legal strategy to seek the preferred outcome. Billy’s attentive approach dovetails with the guiding principle of Brady Cobin Law Group to honor the life, work, and charity of each individual the firm represents.
Billy is a certified Superior Court Mediator with extensive experience in Civil Superior Court mediations. He is an energetic mediator and travels throughout the state to handle mediations. He strives to understand the needs of all sides to work toward a resolution in a cost-effective manner. He takes seriously the trust placed in his selection as a mediator and approaches each mediation with an open mind. He never tries to force his opinion on anyone or plays favorites.
He is also available to act as an Arbitrator in all matters, including Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage disputes. He has served as an Arbitrator in Wake County District Court.
Having previously worked for two well-known litigation law firms in Raleigh and operated his own practice, Billy has had the opportunity to represent clients in hundreds of cases and is an experienced courtroom litigator. He has been listed in Best Lawyers in America in the area of Litigation and Insurance. While Billy has the negotiation skills to successfully resolve most legal matters without litigation, he is prepared to go to court and use his courtroom experience to assist clients of Brady Cobin Law Group.
Billy was born and raised in Goldsboro, N.C., where his parents still live. He was active in Boy Scouts of America and attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement in scouting. He enjoys spending time in eastern North Carolina visiting family.
He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in history. He obtained a Juris Doctor degree from the Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law with honors in 2001. While enrolled in law school, he was a member of the Campbell Law Review. From 2001 to 2003, he served as a clerk to Judge Douglas J. McCullough of the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
His professional memberships include the North Carolina State Bar, North Carolina Bar Association, Tenth Judicial District Bar and admission to the United State District Court for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of North Carolina and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
He is a member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church in Raleigh.
